Where are you based?

Arnaldi Studios is based in Sydney, but I have travelled all around the country for my clients wedding photography and I'm more than happy to shoot anywhere that the job requires.

What style of wedding photos do you shoot?

I bring a documentary style to my work. Remaining as unobtrusive as I can, this ensures I capture everyone at their most natural and candid, enjoying the day, rather than looking overly staged. Of course gathering people together to pose for a shot is all part of the capturing the day, this is one of things that I will cover with you before the wedding.

What kind of planning needs to go into my wedding photography?

A lot, but you won't have to worry about that. One of the first things I do is check out the location for the wedding photos to explore it for photographic possibilities, this includes any areas that are suitable for the post ceremony shots.

Although it's not essential that you come with me when I do this I would encourage you to come along so I that can discuss and plan with you what will happen on the day.

Why do some photographers work alone and not others?

It seems that each photographer you ask this question of will give a different answer. There is no simple answer that applies to all photographers, it really comes down to the style of working that the photographer employs.

I work alone sometimes with an assistant when it's a large wedding, but the assistant never takes the photos. If ever a second photographer is needed it usually comes down to one thing, that no matter how good you are, you can't be in two places at once, but it is rare when it's not possible for me to cover something myself.

Why do you work alone and not with another photographer?

There is one very good reason for working alone in taking photos, style! Every photographer has their own style, no two are the same.

There is only one way two photographers can produce a joint portfolio that doesn't clash, they have to make it bland. To be creative you have to shoot in your own style, and if two different photographers do that, then when you put the photos together in an album, there will be no integrity of style and it will look hap-hazard.

The only good reason to have more than one photographer is if it's physically impossible for me to cover something alone, luckily this situation hasn't come up, a capable photographer should be able to cover a whole wedding themselves. The only other person I work with is an assistant when it's a large wedding, so that I can better concentrate on taking photos while they make sure other aspects of the shoot run smoothly.

My friend has a good camera, why should I hire a professional photographer?

Because cameras don't take photos, people do. You don't hire a photographer because of their camera, it's basic for all professional photographers to be using professional cameras and lenses.

You hire a photographer because of their vision and creativity, and because you like their work. You want someone who can convey the feelings and beauty of your wedding day, this takes talent and skill.

Do I get to choose which photos are enlarged?

Yes. After your wedding we will arrange a follow up consultation where you will be able to make your choices for enlargement. Alternatively if you wish you can choose them from the online gallery that is offered to all clients.

How will I know the quality of my photos are good?

It's unfortunate when the precious wedding photographs start to fade or change colour because the photographer choose to send your photos to a sub standard lab for printing. Sometimes it's easy to tell, bad colours, too light or too dark, but other times it's not so easy to tell, and only after a few years have passed that you can start to notice that the prints are fading. I use only professional  printers and I use only archival papers, this combination of inks and papers will ensure that your prints will last a lifetime and more.

What's the first step?

Contact us, you can use the online enquiry form or you can email or call us. We will make an appointment to come and see you at a time that suits you. I know that for most of my clients it's not easy to take time out during their busy days to come and see me, that's why I will come to see you, even at your home after hours (including weekends when time permits). We discuss what type of ceremony your having and what kind of coverage your after, also what style of photography you prefer. More importantly it gives me a chance to get to know you so that I can deliver to you a package that you will be able to treasure.
